I’m going to break this into two portions for ease of understanding: best brand, and best website.
What’s the best brand of jewelry?
What’s the best brand of shoes? Depending on what you need them for, the answer changes. Jewelry is the same way. For initial piercing jewelry, I like using a lot of stuff from ANATOMETAL, NeoMetal, BVLA, and Gorilla Glass. For jewelry for stretched lobes, there’s so many materials and designers, I could name a bunch and still live people out. I like the innovative use of materials I see from OneTribe, the love and attention to detail in Blessings to You, the handmade feel of Honeycomb Organics, the polish on Bishop Organics wood, the variety from The Stone Witch and The Stone Demuhn (Sammy and Mateo WAY), and the list goes on.
What’s the best website?
I don’t really feel like any website is great for ordering jewelry from. Jewelry needs to fit you, it needs to be sterilized prior to insertion, it needs to be installed well so it doesn’t come undone, and you need to see it in real life to be able to decide if you like it. No website can do that for you. When you mix that with the fact that jewelry sales are largely what keeps your friendly local body piercers employed and happy… it seems kind of silly to go through a website, wait for shipping, and hurt your local studio.
You all hear me talk about implant-grade body jewellery, and how not all pieces of jewellery are made equally. I also talk a lot about surface finish and mirror polish (and sometimes my portfolio photos have me or my camera reflected in the jewellery!).
However, it can be really difficult at first glance to see the difference between a $2 piece of jewellery or a $100 one, and that can be confusing!
Here is a fabulous example showing the difference between high polish, implant grade body jewellery and the lower quality pieces of jewellery.

Make. This. Viral.
If you have any sort of interest in body piercing, spread this information! This is a great visual between a high quality internally threaded piece of jewelry vs a low quality externally threaded piece of jewelry. Please do your research before getting pierced!
No. Never. This is a serious profession and I take my job seriously.
Re-blogging this in case anyone has gone to a piercer and had inappropriate things happen/be said. This is not cool! Your professional piercer should be just that, A PROFESSIONAL! Seek one out or contact me and I can find someone close to you.
